I'm Eric, a layman who's been studying the bible critically for the past 3-4 years or so, and I've recently taken up an interest in archaeology relating to the bible.

I was introduced to this forum by an online friend, though I don't know if he's signed up yet. Some books I've read recently read in the past month on archaeology (or by archaeologists) include:

Finkelstein, Silberman, The Bible Unearthed

Dever, What Did the Biblical Writers Know and When Did They Know It?

Dever, Who Were the Early Israelites and Where Did They Come From?

Albright, Archaeology and the Religion of Israel

de Vaux, Ancient Israel: Its Life and Institutions

I'm enthusiastic about contributing to and learning from this forum.

Regards,
Eric

Hey Eric! You actually did beat me to joining, but I'm here now. So I guess I welcome you and myself to the forums! :-)

My name is Rick, full profile, email me if you wish.
Question: Maybe I am biased but what do you think of most books. I have tendency to regard most of them as finding excuses to say the Bible was written by others 100s of years after the person claiming to write the book. Disclaimers.
