Hello Kattey.

There is a beautiful French Proverb  :

Traduire cest trahir un peu( to translate is to betray a little ).
And yes there are also important differences take the lines 15/21 of each translation :

In translation 2 and 3  the founding father of the Salmanaser dynasty is called Tiglath- Adar.
In translation 1 he is called Tukulti-Urta.

In text 2 and 3 Assurnasirpal  father of  Salmanaser is called supreme hero

in text 1 he is called  the  high priest .

who    and what do you mean by your writing that   this  guy  sounds like the Hitler of his time ????

To Turan - Just that his m.o. is to kill, kill, kill.

It seems Tilgith-Pilaster is the name I have seen used most.  All this muddle is understandable because there are different names used for people and places by foreigners compared to the natives.  We call you Holland or The Netherlands.  What do you call yourselves?
