I ask this question in good faith. I have just joined this forum. I subscribed to the e-mails from BAR and found them interesting. I call myself a "bedraggled refugee" from the Roman Catholic Church. I was a Roman Catholic for about 30 years due to the fact that my parents were strong Roman Catholics. I was sent to a Jesuit College which I did not like much. About 35 years ago as a result of being interested in Science and Astronomy all my life I became an Atheist. Since then I have been researching the history of the foundation of Judeo/Christianity and the formation of the Roman Catholic Church by Constantine I at the Council of Nicea in 325CE. I have researched the history of Christianity up to the present time.

As I now have access to the Internet I can find all the web sites that can help me. I do know which ones are crap and which ones are good and genuine.

I got kicked off the Imterfaith Forum because some members did not like my views regarding the connections between Judeo/Christianity and the Religion of Ancient Egypt. I am well read in Ancient Egypt.

Am I welcome here? I ask this so I know where I stand before I post anything. Although I am Atheist I never "preach" to Christians. I find there is a strong attitude against Atheists in the USA, something we do not have in Australia. I am genuinely interested in Archaeology, but have not found any evidence to prove much of the Bible to be fact. Oh Yes, I have read the Bible.

1. This is not a "faith" forum...it's an archaeology forum...dedicated to the archaeology of the near/middle east...the lands of the Bible.

2. Members are not required to state their faith :)

3.  All who wish to discuss the archaeology of the area are welcome here.

I dont think anyone without a religious faith should be slammed. Stating a faith is not slamming. Clarifying that, the stating of a faith I do not mean a denomination or church but rather by stating your faith in a godly biblical manner perhaps as miracle or defence for christian conduct should not be regarded as slamming the atheist.
But this justice also applies to an atheist so compelled to feel they must slam anyone with a religious belief as the answer to archeological solutions. Disagreeing with a solution as absurd to science or ridiculous for reality does not require the words of poppycock and bullsh-t or other remarks. Saying its foolish and mythical is enough to make your point. An atheist should not attack a theist and then claim he is being singled out as a victim or noncormist to a biblical forum. The vast majority of study here, though biblical, is not one that feels the bible wording is exact in the way of religion. That's fine; it proves it is not a religious site out to bash the atheist, so I hope no one is crying abuse here... I have seen many people at their jobs, not do their jobs, and then cry racism when they get fired for not doing it.
It is said if anyone plays that game here, but I have always sensed a good adminsitration here even if I am among those they don't like or have to deal with.
