Hi Rick J

I completed a somewhat lengthy post on the Philistines, pressed post, then got a message a post had been posted since I started my message.  Now my post has totally disappeared.  It did not post.  Where is it?  Shouldn't it have posted?  boohoo

"Warning - while you were typing a new reply has [or X new replies have] been posted. You may wish to review your post. "

This feature of the software is designed to give you a chance to see what was posted before finishing your post.

Typically what you typed should remain, but it seems that your computer is forcing a refresh upon that message.

When did your typed text disappear?
a. When the message first popped up, or
b. After you looked at what was posted while you were typing, or
c. After you clicked on the button to post what you typed anyway.

Thanks for help, Rick.

I finished my post and pressed post, then I saw notice the message about another post on next page.  Hit back and my posting was gone immediately.

I wouldn't doubt it could be my computer.  I am constantly trying to fix it.  I have spyware, adware and other programs to clean it up etc. but nothing remains.  Seems like my setting(s) are wiped out  I think I have two dial up programs working at odds--will tell me I'm offline when I'm not, will ask me to redial while i'm online.  I've talked to Copper.  They can't see anything wrong on their end.

Please give suggestions.

if i am correct, the nice thing about BAS is you can browse backward, and you typing text is still there, the webpage does not REFRESH and create a new blank page forcing you to start over. I have this prblem in Google groups, and so at time i do a scantext, control-X, control-V, before sending. (control-X is copy and cut, and control-V is paste, by cutting it and pasting it you know you copied it; a control-C doesnt show whether it successfully copied your text or pic into your computer buffer). But if i am correct, that is only needed for pages that when you back browse it has refreshed and deleted your typed text .... i am quite sure BAS blank forms dont delete when you forward and back browse.... test it out... type a word and then go backward to a previous page and then come forward to it.

i just tested it, if you havent sent yet, it does return your text without refreshing the page... i love it.  But perhaps in the case of the warning of new posts, it wont, like i said, hit save again and post it anyways, if it turns out the other new posting relates to what you typed or not, whats it matter, you have modify you can go to.

Kattey, after digging into the issue further, I'm confident it is your computer.  In the future, just select all your text and copy it to your clipboard before checking out the post that was posted while you were typing.

After that you can just paste the text back into a reply.

There are three ways a new window is openedwhen you already have one opened.

1) you are accustom to losing the last page as it loads up the next.
Usually you can back up to the previous page with arrows.

If you cant, then maybe.
2)  it is a new window on top of, and in front of your old window still open. Sometimes it opens a new window leaving your old one untouched but behind it all.

3)  the new Exlporer browser has TABS.... this means the same window is open. Yet you wonder why you cant back up and so you think you lost your previus window. NOT SO. Look at your browser, their are tabs like a recipe box showing you other webpages on each tab in the same window. That is why when you close it, a warning comes up, do you wish to close all tabs. It is a reminder, your window really has other webpages still there too.
I forget all the time. When i copied the Wikipedia post, i thought i had to go find my Wikipedia page again, but it was there in the TAB.
