It seems that this subforum should be the right place, but based on many of the other threads here - mods, please feel, free to move as appropriate.

I have been a long-time reader of BAR, and have been interested in Biblical archaeology for more years than I can remember.  One of my lifelong goals is to be able to participate/volunteer on a dig.  not a "vacation", but a time of learning and work.  Perhaps for a month or more even.

one of my other lifelong goals was to (first) visit "Israel", and in 2007, I had that opportunity and went on a "Exodus Tour" starting in Cairo, then to Jordan, and into Israel.  a two week excursion, that went by faster than I thought it would.  I am glad I took many photos (with GPS for meta-data).

My education has been an acquired, and lengthy process, currently with a masters in media and technology and another in Christian Education.  Unfortunately for me, there were no archaeology courses at any of the places I took classes.  I have been to many lectures and adult education series.  Including all related courses from The Teaching Company that I could get a hold of; whether out of production or the very new.

In any case. I am looking or any suggestions, for perhaps next year?  preferably by folks that lead or already are familiar with some active site locations.

I do plan on sticking around for a bit.  Will just have to learn to ignore certain posters on my own.  did you intend on leaving a link?

This seems to me an exellent opportunity   for digging experience with a moderate price.
