Some readers of this forum may be interested in a controversy that has erupted over the presentation of the Dead Sea Scrolls in a natural history museum in San Diego, and over the treatment of Qumran archaeology at the recent annual meetings of ASOR and SBL (also in San Diego).  See, e.g.,

there was some of this when I visited the exhibit in Kansas City earlier this year.  I had asked about the way they had been presenting the information as an apriori.  I had received no response. (and part of the reason I posted the other thread in this forum :) )
