Hi there...

 :)

I know that I have a lot of favorites from BAR....

One of my favorites is the article on Satan's Throne (May/Jun 2006)

but some of the older material   is really better.

One of my favorites...

"The Garden of Gethsemane: Not the Place of Jesus' Arrest"(Jul/Aug 1995)

and your favorite is?

I like the one where the folks got together and made an expedition to the DSS caves and took along a proctoscope to look into crevasses and cracks.  I've been looking forward to a follow-up since they stated they could see some items of interest still buried.  Did I miss it?

I kind of like the "interview" articles the best.  the ones where HS has a couple or a group of people and the article is (mostly) just a transcript of questions/answers and comments.  8)

Those are good, too.  Like the Frank Moore Cross and what's-his-name interview.

My favorite recent article is the one on Bedouins in the Sinai which shows the close connection between Bedouin and Jewish beliefs.  I find this somehow reassuring.

My Favoritcle article  will forever ( ? ) be the elegant civilised discussion between Shanks and Jacobovici  about Exodus.

A beacon for us all how  you can differ fundamentally and discuss it in a friendly civilised way  without rudeness  etc etc etc.

Oh!  There are so many the long ago article on Hezekiah's use of Egyptian motifs.  Very interesting!  Made me want to ask:  was he thinking of attempting a Judean coup in Egypt then ruled by non-Egyptians?

I particularly took interest in a much newer article that of the God's Wife? page 62, September/October 2006:  because of my long interest in Egyptian history.  I was disappointed in that references to Egypt’s God Wives of Amun were not discussed very well.  This ancient role in Egypt dates to Middle Kingdom and took on new powers in the New Kingdom.  Retreating during the early 19th dynasty only to return and increase in power, until the position ended under Persian occupation.

Hy Kattey.

the article was !!! in the electronic BAR review september/october  2006.

But is erased    pity!!!
it is an private exchange of letters between Shanks and Jacobovici.
So perhaps concerning privacy  it was erased .
Really a pity it was so good and enlightening.
