In the Jul/Aug 2008 article, "The Salome No One Knows" it is stated, "This Salome was the only woman ever to govern Judea as its sole ruler."

May I ask who ruled Judea along with Queen Athaliah (daughter of Israel's Queen Jezebel) during her 6-7 year reign, while there was no anointed descendant of King David on the throne?

i am confused, sources online say
Aristobulus I ruled and died
and then Alexander Jannaeus ruled and died.

I guess she married the next king. Your'e talking
about the years 100 BC down to 67 BC when there
was to be no king according to restored Jerusalem.
I guess some where the Maccabee period stepped
up as the kingdom of God. which is like 7 weeks
of Daniel's prophecy (7x 50 years = 350 years to
165 BC and 104 BC. But in 104 BC he put a crown
on his head and died that year.

Hey Adam, the problem is Queen Salome lived in historical documented times AKA post Alexander times.  Queen Athaliah lived before them, in fact she lived before the days of the Assyrians when modern day Biblical Archaeologist have to admit there was some type of state called Judea.  Only because the Assyrians mention Judea, its Kings and Israel.
No one ruled with Queen Athaliah, she ruled alone.

Make your ear attentive to wisdon, incline your heart to understanding; for if you cry for discernment, lift your voice for understanding; if you seek her as silver and seach for her as for hiden treasures: then you will discern the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God.  For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.  Proverbs 2:2-6
