Having been to Yerevan and to Dogubayazit (and now looking at current flights, wow so expensive, was it luck i had a flight for $870 roundtrip to Van). I still cannot believe that with the only flight per day at 9am from Ankara to Chicago that because it was 8am and the Embassy doesnt open until 9am that I opted to fly home. The guide said get the permit, he doubts I can get, and then we'll talk price, yet his 20-year old son who put me on the 18-hour bus to Ankara was saying $5000 for 10 days (versus typical summer time $1000 for 3 days to peak). Did I goof. Should I not have sat at the airport one hour until the embassy opens, find a bus to both embassies, American and Turkey and find out how I'm gonna get a permit to do this! Sigh. Well, here's a google map of it all.

For anyone who wishes to get to Ararat. Any nobody just like me. Here's the location. A bus ride across all Turkey is 24 hours. 18 hours from Ankara is 60 lira ($40).  Try Orbitz.com for flights.

     The red line down the side of Mount Ararat is the ark sliding down in 74 days from April 25 when grounded to July 8 when Little Ararat poked its head above the ocean to the south (right) 7 miles (11km) away. As in other photo images, from the ark on the north plateau, Little Ararat was seen down below them to the left of the Big peak seen above them. This photo was taken on a street in Dogubayasit (East Bayazit).

How close have you been able to get to the mountain so far?  How close are you hoping to get this time?  Perhaps by some amazing fortune, to also go up?

I have read of the alleged expedition commissioned by the Tzar and the evidence obtained allegedly destroyed by the Soviets.  Also of the father and son who are alleged to have seen the Ark in rather good shape, considering its age.  But I remain skeptical of both reports.  Not that it's impossible, or that it's a myth, but because of policy.  The policy has been that there will be no evidence or proof given, but that the message will suffice, e.g.  "They have Moses and the Prophets.  Let them hear them."

But some still seek a sign, and a proof, though I suspect none shall be given them as it is written.

Akash01, if you google up the word "ARARAT" while selected the link "IMAGES" you will get the following pictures online (with alot of searching further too). Of these pictures, many of them I have added probable impact of the ark bottom that struck rock on 2369 BC Julian Apr 25 sending timbers down the mountain slope that claim to have been found. Since the ark has never been seen on the very top peak where scripture porves it grounded (Apr 25), this means over the next 74 days to July 8 on Noah's date 10-01-600 (three months before the 360-day calendar NEW YEAR happened to fall on absent new moon of 2369 BC Oct 6) apparently the ark slid off the peak from water wave action and kept ramming the coast of the island peak as it slid down to the western plateau.

Now I am not sure which is the highest peak because the generic general term of peak is given to Big Ararat and Little Ararat is called the other second peak. However, the big peak itself has like double or triple peak, and most but not all pictures and charts imply that the east peak is not as high as the middle peak, which then the western peak is far below either of them. Look at the topographic elevation lines in an Ararat map and you will see the lines make a figure 8 around this double peak. WHAT this means is that we must recognize declaring mountains seen 74 days later means the initial grounding was on the highest point of the this double peak. If that highest point be east, then the ark crossed over the deep valley by floating against the coast line though it was already officially grounded. But if that grounding highest peak be the west of the double then it slid down on the rock itself to the western plateau in 74 days having to cross over no valley, yet timbers ripped off at impact to be found in the valley, and even on the ridge to the east, which means these timbers could only have gotten there across the deep valley by floating east. I appreciate if anyone clarifies to me by map which is the highest point or peak (show me on the JPG map labeled as Overhead Mt Ararat.jpg whether it is the left west X or the east right X). It is possible the blue line should go to the other peak X to the left. Also I am also aware that from grounding at end of blue line, that the red float line or drag line is not correct and must float along coast in a curve as it descends to point A, or drag ground from the other peak down to point A. I intend to change this if you have the answer of which + peak is higher on that map. (Scroll down to the post with topography elevation, also stop at Randall Price topography which shows the north valley between the two peaks.)

The picture from the city is what I snapped from my hotel. You will note that on this date Aug 21 that there is no snow as there was in the pic I snapped posted above at the end of April.

The team that was up there for Randall Price has a map that seems to indicate they were digging in the McGivern location (see picture overheadMtArarat) says they left the day before I arrived at Camp 2 on Aug 31. Yet reference is made to the B location (which is sometimes placed at location A on the western plateau) instead of over the cliff downhill as the front half broken off the ark. (The ark has no bow or stern, but it did float north and over the peak to the north side of Ararat.) As you can see the McGivern location defies other major locations unless what was found is only pieces of the ark and not its full 45-foot height of 3 stories. Common belief is that half is still at A (if it hasnt slid down to D), and the other half broke of A heading to B. The C location is thought to be only flooring bottom of the 1st story ripped off the bottom of 3-story front piece of location B. The argument exists that this is over a ridge and would have required doing so upon snow that once filled the current dip to reach the Parrot glacier as C.

By the way, none of these Kurds say this city the same way (?) Bazit or Doe-oo-Bazit, Doo-Bazit, Doo-Baz. The word Dogu means "east"; Orta-dogu means middle east. I dont speak the language, butu I interact very much with everyone. Obviously, look at me here.

The Palego find:
These pics are from Angelo Palego. I feel bad for him in the critique he gets as a JW, but he brought it on himself like Joseph telling his brothers that the 10 of them and his mom and dad would bow down to him. (BTW this should unveil to you in how much of a degree that dreams are divine, his mom being the moon never bowed to him because she had died giving birth to Benjamin... who did bow down on the 2nd trip, though Joseph probably lifted him to his feet.) The point is that in translation the Italian words HOW I FOUND NOAHS ARK  is too much of a leap. Yes I think he found it, and yet how can you say it is found if what you found is under the snow and ice. It's a trumpet blown too soon.
But here are the pics, his site is shuffled constantly trying to appease people or presnt it better, so this is a favor by making this find of his more stable. In some of the pictures it was I who put the letter A or B or C to help my confusion of his attempt to show us.

Claudio Schranz snapped some of the following pictures with his Italian guide Roberto. My guide Burhan got all excited and wanted these pictures and video clips of his friend Roberto.
This is location C in the Parrot glacier and if it is the bottom of the front half of the ark, then there is no inside access to find the stone or vellum writings that I believe were ditched on the ark in a quick evacuation based on Great Pyramid chambers being Holy and Most Holy with a sarcophagus for writings stored the same way that Moses made a cedar chest to save writings and called it the ark because teh ark is a cedar chest to save things.

I would like to point out that the pictures with the horseshoe ridge are not the whole mount Ararat, but only a small peak on the side of the whole mountain. What look's like a plain in front of the horseshoe ridges is actually a very small plateau probably about 9000 feet up; then what looks like the peak of the mountain is actually just a ridge peak on the edge of the large massive western plateau that is over this peak in this picture. The closer you are on the mountain, the less bearings you have of where you are. What looks so clear in the zoomed pictures from my hotel room will break down into ridges and valleys while standing there on it that block your view of the whole mountain.

Note the double peak that Palego points out, and how the valley allows view of Little Ararat. That double peak also shows in the topography map that Randall Price used in his slide show in Turkey. For this reason the path line from peak to point A in OverhearMtArarat.jpg will probably be redrawn by me. BUT this means that the timbers of the ark bottom broken off at impact floated over to the ridge to the east, because such a position from a snow slide could only occur if the impact had been at that lower peak to the east. This however contradicts that Ararat was totally covered by water at grounding of only a 22.5 feet (15 cubit) ark displacement.
 If the east peak is lower, then the main peak would have been seen at time of grounding and no proof of being covered by the 15 cubits. Therefore, which ever peak is higher is the one grounded on 22.5 feet below sea level.

my guide's family lives on the  mountain, but that means the foothills. They put up a tent from May to October. The melt of snow is apparently 100s of waterfalls and rivers creating a massive field of grass and flowers for grazing, and then dry summer dries it all out. So when i was there, it was all short, eaten down, and arid like a desert. Very hot. Kids had skin protection on their faces, i had mild burn, red face. Yet the heat of the sun did not stop a half hour of hail that broke down into snow and then melted.

The guide says they are now in their city in their home, not on the  mountain foothills of their property.

Look at the sketch in 1B_Morris.jpg.  What's with all the fenestrations? 

Whether it was real or the figment of a snake-oil-selling imagination, it isn't the Ark.

Typical of people's artistic drawing skills, do not judge a person by their lack of ability. The photo snapped by Angelo Palego is to show you he believes is snapped on  the same location standing where the bad artist drew the sketch.

The intent of the drawing is not to be a photograph but to mark where the sketcher stood when he saw the ark. I agree he doesnt know how to draw an ark. But that is typical of anyone asked to draw what sits/sets before them.

I do not know whether the man had no camera, or the sketch was done before cameras invented or mass produced.
So you criticism is actually beyond the issue. It is submitted as EVIDENCE OF and INDICATION OF not as PROOF OF.

I think the drawing does look like the location as well as the big square lump under the snow and ice.
