Welcome to the BAS Travel/Study program alumni! We’ve created this space especially for you so that you can continue the friendships you’ve made during a BAS trip or seminar. We’ve found that many people forge lasting friendships during BAS trips and seminars, and we wanted to help make it easier to stay in touch. This board is for you to keep in touch as well as share photos, anecdotes and experiences, and research your next adventure with BAS!

An article in Biblical Archaeology Review magazine in 1984 featured Dr. Yigal Shiloh who was asking for volunteer help at the excavations in the City of David in Jerusalem. Letters were sent to the Hebrew University and eventually I was invited to participate. I am thankful for having had the privilege of working with Dr. Shiloh, Yair Shoham, Donald Ariel and Eilat Mazar. I met David Jordan, a professor of Anthropology from San Diego University. A volunteer from Canada showed me how to effectively shape the side of the balk. Annette from Germany worked with me in area D-2. One day Benjamin Mazar watched as I uncovered a four-handeled storage jar from the eighth century B.C.
I will never forget this experience that changed my life forever and I would love to hear from anyone who shared this with me. Thank you BAS!
